FAQ: Why Haven't I Heard of These Therapies?
We commonly hear about amazing breakthroughs and discoveries in the fields of medical and surgical practices. Many of these provide miraculous benefits and should be celebrated! But, an amazing body of research has been overlooked by the news media. Comparatively few people know about the discovery of Applied Physiology and the highly effective, non-invasive, benefits it provides to people who have lost neurological or muscular function following traumas such as strokes and accidents, or even the inevitable traumas resulting from some of those miraculous surgical procedures.
A B.I.T. of History
In the mid 1980's, Richard Utt, an electronics engineer and licensed acupuncturist, took a new look at acupoint therapy through eyes that were trained to create computer technology. He realized that the acupoint system was a dynamic organization of electronic intelligence, much like a computer, and coined the phrase 'bio-computer'. He observed that the brain and nerve tissue of the body represent the hard wiring of this bio-computer and charted that relationship. The ancient scientists of the Orient, when developing the acupoint therapies of acupuncture and acupressure, did not have access to the vast amount of scientific information available today. Richard Utt effectively mapped the functions of the cortex of the brain to the acupoint system, creating formats of acupressure that can restore neuromuscular function far beyond the scope of traditional therapies and medical practices. He named this technique Applied Physiology. Through his own practice and the techniques he has taught, Richard Utt's discoveries have restored the lives of countless numbers of people the world over.
Two of Richard's earliest students, Susan McCrossin, AP, and Charles Krebs, PhD, not only learned Applied Physiology, but took it to new levels, discovering how this technique applies to the limbic system of the brain, thus improving brain function for children and adults with learning difficulties. By 1988, they had developed a technique that has eradicated learning difficulties, such as ADD, ADHD, and Dyslexia for thousands upon thousands of children and adults the world over.
Learning From Some of the Best
In 2004, Kathy studied with Pat Omiecinski, a student of both Richard Utt and Dr. Nambudripad, developer of N.A.E.T. Pat Omieciski is the research scientist that developed The Metabolic Protocol, an effective acupoint therapy for autism and autoimmune disorders. Her research did for metabolic biochemistry what Richard Utt's research did for functional neurology. Kathy has assisted in providing this beneficial therapy for children and adults with a variety of developmental delays and neurological disorders.
From 2005 to 2008, Kathy has attended lectures by Richard Utt and Dr. Krebs, completed a course in advanced acupressure taught by Dr. Krebs, and completed courses in Crossinology's® Brain Integration Technique, Brain Physiology, Muscle ReActivation, and Advanced Brain Integration taught by Susan McCrossin, AP.
In essence, these inventors have played a profound role in bringing acupoint therapies into the twenty-first centrury. It is a great honor to meet and learn from the discoverers and inventors in any given field. Kathy feels remarkably blessed to have studied with them. She has also attended lectures, seminars, and presentations by the following authors and founders:
George Goodheart, DC, Applied Kinesiology
John Thies, DC, Touch for Health Kinesiology
Bruce Dewe, MD, Professional Kinesiology Practice
Paul Dennison, PhD, Educational Kinesiology
Dale Schusterman, DC, Sign Language of the Soul
Dr. Hugh Riordan, MD, The Bright Spot for Health
Linda Kavelin Popov, The Virtues Project
