TOUCH FOR HEALTH
& SWEDISH MASSAGE
The Usui Method of Natural Healing, better known as Reiki, was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan little more than a century ago. Although specific training is required to practice this method, in appearance it can seem deceptively simple.
The word, Reiki, is made up of two words: Rei, meaning Universal Life Force or Universal Wisdom. Ki, the Japanese equivalent to the Chinese word Qi (Chi), represents life force energy. The practice of Reiki includes developing respect for a basic spiritual approach to life. You can learn more about what are known as the "Reiki Principles" at www.aetw.org.
The practice of Reiki is based on an ancient knowledge of the Universal Life Force Energy and its healing relationship to the body, mind, and spirit. The Reiki practitioner simply helps you to resonate with this Life Force in order to re-balance and re-establish your body's original energy patterns.
Kathy has been a certified practitioner of Reiki, Therapeutic Massage, and Touch For Health Kinesiology since 1996. She was blessed to receive Reiki instruction and training from Two Teaching Reiki Masters, Dr. Jodi Rhea and Dr. Billie Mayo, in 1996 and from Teaching Reiki Master, Chris Schiebe, in 1997. This initial training in energy therapy was broadly enhanced by her studies in massage and kinesiology from 1996 through 1999 with Mrs. Norma Harnack, a surgical nurse and Touch for Health instructor with many years of exceptional experience in both western and eastern therapeutic sciences. Kathy received her certification as Teaching Reiki Master in 1997 and as a Touch for Health Instructor in 1999.

Touch for Health is a program designed to optimize and balance the human energy system, developed in the 1970s by Dr. John F. Thie, a chiropractic physician and applied kinesiologist. Based on the principles of Applied Kinesiology, developed in the 1960's by Dr. George Goodheart, Dr. Thie's original vision was to present a practice of kinesiology for the lay-person. Although many practitioners, such as nurses, massage, or physical therapists learn these methods to enhance their professional services, many people come to learn Touch for Health so that can use it freely at home with their families and friends.
Although based on ancient knowledge of the energy pathways (meridians) used in acupuncture, it also incorporates twentieth century discoveries made by chiropractic, medical, and osteopathic physicians. Muscle reactions are employed to assess stressed energy circuits and to then identify simple techniques, such as neurolymphatic massage, to re-establish balance and efficient function. Kathy has practiced Touch for Health Kinesiology since 1996 and has been teaching it since 1999. It has been a foundational part of her practice.

Swedish Massage
I was certified to practice a unique approach to Swedish massage at the Massage & Energy Connection College of Applications. My mentor, Norma Harnack, an exceptionally trained, talented, and experienced surgical nurse and kinesiology instructor, owned the school and was the main instructor. Although I have benefited from many great teachers and am grateful to the Source of All Sources for each of them, I would like to particularly thank Norma for taking me under her wing in order to give me wings. Her humble and genuine approach to life, her talent for bringing what is outside the box into the box, her generous care, and her high standards of professionalism have been a light to my career and a gift to the hearts of all who are blessed to know her.
